As well as the support AVA provides to local groups through volunteer recruitment and networking, there are a number of specific ways in which we can help. AVA may be able to respond to a simple request for assistance, but sometimes a conversation with a member of staff can be a starting point, to help a group to identify its needs.

We therefore offer one-to-one support and advice to local charitable organisations on matters such as: becoming constituted; registering as a charity; raising funds; communications and publicity; finding meeting space; supporting/training volunteers; recruiting/managing paid staff. We are also able to safely hold money for small charities.

We have developed a range of key documents and policies to take some of the work out of starting from scratch. Documents include:

  • Equality and Diversity Policy
  • Data Protection Policy
  • Safeguarding Policy etc, etc [non-downloadable].
